Quick start guide for setting up SUB2r camera

If you only plan to be using the standard UVC controls you can just plug-n-play the camera (ignoring the “unknown devices” that are not recognized by the OS). However, if you plan on taking full advantage of the provided functionality - proceed with the instructions on this page.

VC++ redistributable

  1. Download and install VC++ 2017 redistributable for 64-bit from Microsoft's site (if you don't have this installed the SUB2r control center will silently(!) fail to launch with no error message)

Windows driver

In order to access the camera's functions beyond the standard UVC you need this Cypress FX3 driver.

Download the driver itself as a .zip file 1)

  1. Unzip the package Unzip - begin Unzip - proceed
  2. right-click on the cyusb3 file which displays its type as Setup Information (or has an .inf extension if you have those enabled to be displayed) and select Install Right-click => Install
  3. Confirm the Open operation
  4. Confirm the Windows's account access verification
  5. Make sure the Publisher is shown as SUB2r and proceed with the installation
  6. Now you have the driver installed

SUB2r control center

Get the SUB2r control center application from Windows Store and install it. If the link doesn't work - just go to Windows Store and search for SUB2r control center there.

And wait for Windows to configure it Driver auto-config - discovery Driver auto-config - success
